Your pain for His peace.

Updated: 3 hours ago

Acts of violence. Hateful speech. The stories flood the headlines and fill our feeds leaving us weary and shaken. The weight of it all can feel overwhelming. Where do we turn when our hearts are hurting and we feel sick inside?
We turn to the One who knows the weight of grief more than anyone. The One who entered into our brokenness. The One who was perfect in every way yet “was despised and rejected… a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.” (Isaiah 53:3)
Jesus bore the sins of the world so we could have deep, abiding peace with the Father. And He continues to trade our pain for His peace today. This is why He’s called the Prince of Peace. The peace He provides is like no other - it’s unshakable.
Jesus not only meets us in our sorrow, His love and presence bring healing and hope. And that healing doesn’t end with us - He wants us to share it with others.
Jesus doesn’t only comfort us, he commissions us to shine His light in the dark places of this world. He asks us to be His hands and His feet; to reflect His love in everything we do - the way we speak, act and respond to others. Every encounter we have - even with those who oppose us - is an opportunity to show the compassion of Christ.
Is this an easy task? No. Will we make mistakes? Yes. But we must remember, we are not alone. It is His Spirit in us that equips us to do what He has called us to. As we invite more of Him into our lives, and surrender to His will, He empowers us to speak truth in love and do it with grace.
So yes, we grieve what we see around us, but we do not lose hope as we fix our eyes on Jesus. He is the calm in every storm, the healer of every hurt, and the only One who can bring purpose to even our deepest pain. That's why His words still steady our hearts today: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
